Hello

Welcome this blog is about Operating systems software and any other tpe of software. This week I will specifically talk about linux operating systems. During the weekend I installed open Suse on an extra hard drive. It is very stable and looks interesting for free. The only thing I have had problems with is trying to install Linux games on it. Many of the games that are available for download appear to be manually installed using the linux console which I try to do but get error messages. Comments and solutions are welcome.

I have been involved with computers since about 98 or so and never installed any flavor of linux or any of the other operating Systems. I have used HP Unix to do server back ups, but thats about it. I might add that to my to do list for this year.
It would be pretty cool to run Linux on my Car Computer vice XP Media Center.

What media player are you using with SUSE?

I found this website where you can download different Distros of Various OS's.
They are live CD's, so they will not install anything to your drive. Its will run off CD only at Bootup.

That's how I tried out SUSE, with a live CD. I'm trying to get my friend to make me a knoppix live CD.

I so far find that linux is stable. Im currently trying to install WINE, a windows virtual machine that can allow you to run Windows apps in.
