A useful FireFox extension that I have used is Video Download helper (https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/3006). It allows you to download videos from site that you could not normally download from such as YouTube. I find this tool very useful for downloading YouTube videos that I really like to play over and over again. Another nice feature that is has is that if you have the VideoDownload helper’s icon on the toolbar and you go on a web page that contains a video that the extension can download the icon lights up and becomes animated. Personally wonder why YouTube doesn’t offer a download option, I guess they don’t want to pay for the extra bandwidth form people downloading videos off of their site.
There is a program you can then download to play the YouTube videos. The link to that is http://www.download.com/FLV-Player/3000-2139_4-10467081.html . This programs is easy to use and has a relatively small file size. I also have a free video/audio file converter that allow me to convert these files to many file types such as windows media file (.wmv) so I can play it with Windows Media Player. Overall it is a useful program that works quite well.
